SMS notifications is one area where many issues come up in flurry. As sending international SMS costs huge, flurry has been using email-to-SMS service. This means that if your mobile service provider doesn’t support email-to-SMS, flurry wont provide SMS notifications for you. Thus, SMS notifications is currently available to only limited countries outside US and Canada, and many flurry users are not able to use this remarkable feature.
Last Thurday a user called CaDmiuM48 posted in flurry forums about a new way to provide this service. The basic idea was to use a missed call instead of the SMS. This same method is used by a CellityFREE SMS too. Click here to view the forum topic (Click here to view the forum topic.)
I have been heavily using CellityFREE SMS. But why didn’t I come up with this idea? It might be because I haven’t experienced flurry’s SMS notifications feature as it is not available here in Maldives.
